Scarlett Johansson - American Actress and Singer (born in the city of New York on the 22nd of November 1984) Her range of talents as an actress has brought her much acclaim for her work in dramas from the past to thrillers and adventure. Johansson was born in New York City, and was raised by an father, an architect, and mother who produced. She was the twin sister of Hunter and her were among the youngest of siblings. By the time she was seven, her interest in acting had grown. Her first audition was for commercials. She enrolled in the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute shortly following and then attended the Professional Children's School, Manhattan to continue her training. In the age of eight, she starred together with Ethan Hawke in the Off-Broadway production Sophistry and, at the age of nine she made her debut in film in Rob Reiner's North (1994). Johansson was later seen on screen in Just Cause, but she first made an appearance in Manny & Lo, a film about siblings left behind by their parents who flee. Her next film won the attention of critics for her character as a teenage girl who suffered a disfiguring accident in The Horse Whisperer (1998) as well as further recognition for her role as the cynical teenage outcast Rebecca in Ghost World (2001).
